I Won!! I Won!!

Sorry gals!! I know I have been missing in action again, and I am sorry!! This time it was due to a bug going around our house. It started out last week when "Muscles" came down with it. Then I guess he was in a generous mood because he decided he'd share it with me. Now, I think it has officially been passed to "Miss Priss"...

But I really wanted to get on here and tell April sorry!! I had won a cool giveaway that she was having and due to being ill I haven't had the energy to post about it.

She was so generous. Look at all of my goodies she sent....





Thanks again, April!! I loved it all. I have the beautiful framed verse on my night stand. The candy has been enjoyed by all and I have worn the necklace everyday (that I have been to work) since getting it!!

"Girl's Day!!"

Since, I was off work today in celebration of President's Day. "Miss Priss" and I thought it would be a perfect day for a "Girl's Day". So, while "Big Daddy" was at work and "Muscles" was over at a friend's house we figured we would make a day of it and go Prom dress shopping and "do lunch".

I have to admit, it was kind of a bittersweet day for me. You see this is "Miss Priss" third year going to Prom. She went her Sophomore, Junior and now she will be going her Senior year. So we pretty much have this whole Prom dress shopping thing down to a Science. So finding "THE" dress was pretty painless but as I stood there watching my baby girl trying all of the dresses on I couldn't help but to wonder where has the time gone!?!?

She is such a beautiful girl, inside and out. And I am SO proud of her but a the same time I caught myself wanting to cry. I can't believe that my baby is a Senior!! I can't believe that she will be starting college in the Fall. And then getting married. Then babies of her own....gosh, I really am jumping ahead of myself here. But I am sure all you Mother out there know what I mean!!

But we really did have a fun day!! She is such a fun girl to be around. She makes me smile and laugh. And even though it makes me sad sometimes that the kids are both getting older. It is days like this that will forever be in my heart!!

BTW, we did find "THE" dress...but "Miss Priss" asked me to keep it a surprise until the "big" day!! So, please stay tuned for the big reveal....

Family Night

As some of you with teens may know, finding the time that everybody is home at the same time is very far and few between. Well, believe it or not, tonight we are having "Family Night" in our house. I am SO excited!!

Being the Mom of TWO teens, I miss the Friday nights of our past where we would all eat dinner, snuggle and watch a movie or play a game. And thanks to my daughter's boyfriend being out of town (hee hee!! Sorry Matt!!) and all of her "girls" having to work she is actually going to grace us with her presence this evening.

So after having Mexian Chicken (YUMMO!!) for dinner we will be playing the Wii. Which Wii I mean WE (hee hee!!) just purchased last night at Sam's Club...so having never played a Wii ever before this may end up being a very comical night!!

Is Eight Enough?

I am a huge Jon and Kate Plus 8 fan so it was obvious that I wanted to buy the book whenever it came out. So needless to say, this is how I have been spending my lunch hours and evenings for the past few days.

I have to admit though, I am torn on how I feel about the show. As so is probably half of the viewers. I swear everytime I am watching it and "Big Daddy" walks in, he lets out a big sigh and makes the same negative comment. But I can't help it, I love it!! Maybe it is a male/female thing. Who knows!?!?

OK, I admit that there are times I agree with what he is saying about it but so far, the book is a good read. And I am enjoying it!!

Bathroom Reveal...In Black and White!!

First of all, I have to tell you all how proud "Big Daddy" is of this project. This was the first project in our home that he has completely done on his own. Even, down to the fancy folding of the towels (and if you know "Big Daddy", being the big burly man that he is...he would SO embarrassed if he knew I had just told you all that!!) He even planned out the whole design himself. You see, usually in our home I am the one that does all of the designing and he is the one that makes it all the magic happen.

Well, not this time....from the very beginning he told me that this was "his" bathroom and that he wanted to do it all. I have to admit, when he first told me that he wanted and all black and white bathroom, I was a little nervous. But I stepped back (which is VERY hard for a control freak like me) and let him follow thru with his plan. And let me just say, he did an awaesome job!!

Missing In Action....Take Two!!

Whenever I posted last, I had apologized for not posting for a few days. Well, I think I went and did it again (Ok, why did Britney Spears song 'Oops I did it again' just pop into my head!?!?!?) Anyway, I know I have been missing in action again, and for that I am sorry!! Hence the title of this post.

But the other day, I think I had explained to you all how I have a new hobby addiction called Facebook.

OH.MY.GOSH!! It is definitely a love/hate relationship!! At first, I think I was all excited to see old friends and classmates from High School...ok, maybe some more than others!! And let me tell you when you are in your late 30's and somebody mentions Facebook, you automatically think that is the site that your teenage kids visit and that NOBODY your age will be on there. WRONG!!!! EVERYBODY and their brothers are on this site. And it SO addicting!!

But then that excitement is short-lived whenever you start to feel all of those old High School insecurities coming out!! "Oh, I hope this person accepts my friend request" or "I bet they won't even remember me, much less accept my friend request!!" See, I am telling you it is sick!! Sick I tell you!!

It is pure torture, I'll tell you!! It's like I am 16 all over again....Darn that Facebook!!!!

Anyway, my absence hasn't ALL beeen due to Facebook. For the past week or two I have been trying to help "Big Daddy" finish his bathroom redo. So I figure, I will leave you with a few before pics. Complete with the 70's Avocado Green tile and the mess from starting the emptying of cabinets and distruction before taking the "before" pic!! And tomorrow after adding a few finishing touches I will post the big reveal....

Missing In Action!!

Sorry girls, I know I have been missing in action the last few days but I have a problem.... and it is called FACEBOOK!!


OMGosh!! After weeks of my friend Denise trying to convince met to join Facebook, I caved and signed up. NEVER thinking that I would ever get into it...WRONG!!!! It is truly addicting!!

Darn that Denise...she is the devil!!

My poor family, for weeks they have lost me to blogging and now Facebook. I seriously need some professional help!! LOL!!

Anyway, I promise to update tomorrow evening after work....and spend some time with my family!! LOL!!
